Nashwaak River, New Brunswick![]() Looking upriver from where I dug out Number 56. Taken September 30, 2009 |
![]() Number 56 in its unnatural habitat. |
![]() Its brand name was Wards Riverside. How ironic. |
![]() After digging out almost all the muck from its innards with a small spade, I heaved it on end up against the canoe and finished cleaning out the muck. This makes it easier for the recyclers, and protects my car from the dirt. |
![]() It was too heavy and awkward to lift into the boat, especially since it was too big to fit inside! |
![]() So I slid it on top of my boat and paddled out to the road. I was careful not to rock the boat, I didn't want it to slide back into the river after all my grunt work. |
![]() Here's proof this tire was recycled, as it sits by the tire pile awaiting transport to the recycling plant. It is the heaviest tire I have removed single-handed. |
